Kirwan Replacement Police Facility

Project Overview

CV was engaged to deliver the electrical and communications scope for the new Kirwan Police Facility, a state‑of‑the‑art policing hub designed to strengthen operational capability across the Townsville District. The facility serves as the new Kirwan Police Station and accommodates several specialist units, providing a centralised location to improve coordination, collaboration and service delivery to the community.

Scope of Works

CV delivered a comprehensive electrical and communications package incorporating critical power, secure communications, energy systems and specialist infrastructure to support continuous policing operations.

Key deliverables:

  • Electrical and communications pathways via ceiling cable trays and underground reticulation, including SCEC‑endorsed communications infrastructure
  • Site and building main switchboards
  • Schneider Multiclip distribution boards
  • 550kVa standby generator
  • EV charging stations with associated load management system
  • Energy Management System interfaced with the Building Management System
  • Uninterruptible Power Supply system supporting essential services
  • 100kW PV solar system
  • PSN structured cabling with Class C communications racks
  • Security structured cabling and equipment racks

Specialist services coordinated and managed by CV:

  • Security and communications systems – CCTV including powered fibre, security and access control systems, intercom and intercom management systems, Cel‑Fi and radio frequency systems, MATV and HDMI services
  • Fire systems – Dry and passive fire systems
